Set down some rules, and let him/her know that homework be completed before playing online games. Also, set up any parental controls the game may have developed for safety purposes.

High speed Internet providers made online games happen - with dial-up services the bandwidth is not sufficient for such thing to happen. The increasing demand of online, interactive gaming has made an importance to monitor your kids’ activity online, and guarantee they don’t spend too much time staring at their computer screen.

For World of Warcraft to be specific, there are settings made especially for parental control. If there is a kid who plays the game, this will be useful. Of course, even with parental control settings, you have to monitor younger kids play online games at all times.
