Collecting Swords isn’t just for Guys!

I know collecting fantasy swords is usually a guy thing, but I’m a woman, and I’m proud of my sword collection. Admittedly though, I like to collect the ones that women of sci-fi shows, movies, or anime use, like the Sword of Vaelen. This sword belonged to Queen Vaelen, and it helped in the fight against the Dark Lord’s army. So don’t forget, guys, that women can be sword collectors, too!

Buying movie swords can be a magical experience. You see a picture of your fantasy brought to life right in front of your eyes. It’s really magical because you get to hold a piece of fiction. There’s no better feeling in the world than to hold your sword and swing it around.

Even though I’m in my 30s, I only recently became a collector of swords. My children got me hooked on anime because I’d often sit down to watch also. I had no idea you could buy swords based on television shows but my son found a picture of one online and that’s all it took. So that’s when it all started.

I did a lot of research before I purchased my first sword. I made a list of my favorite movies, anime, manga, etc and all of the weapons they featured. Then, I went online to see where I could buy those swords. Then I narrowed my choice down to two that I really liked. I finally picked one and waited an entire week before I made the purchase, in case I changed my mind. After the week was up, I bought my first sword and I’ve been a happy sword collector ever since.

Men are notoriously hard to shop for when it comes to the gift-giving season. After all, there is only room for so much cologne or so many tools in any one given chest. Thank goodness the computer revolution has arrived to give us: The Computer Game! It’s fun. It’s techy. It’s manly. It’s easily available, and it’s affordable on most budgets. A good game will keep your typical guy occupied for a good 20 to 40 hours. Plus, with that boxy shape, they’re quite easy to wrap. Matthew Seigneur goes into more detail about how to select the right computer game to fit on any man’s wish list.

Good Article for Parents: Tips to Know Before Buying a Video Game

I personally love getting a great game as a gift. It’s more fun and interactive than TV; I can play it when the weather is at its worst; I can get a party together and play it in groups for some social activity; and I can play it (quietly, with headphones) when nobody else is awake and I can’t sleep. If you have somebody on your gift-giving list who would love this on their birthday or during the gift-giving seasons, then there are a few things you should know before laying down the cash and making that purchase. Not every game is created equal, and not every store is created equal. I’ll let Vinay Choubey and Sandeep Kumar explain.
