Hunter – Stand back and watch
Hunters are a class apart because they can take a pet and they are the only class that has it’s damage output through a ranged weapon. As a low level Hunter you will have to do the killing alone but at level 10 you will be able to complete a small chain quest which will reward you with the Tame Beast ability.
With a pet at the Hunter’s side leveling truly becomes a walk in the park. While you stand back firing your bullets or arrows your pet tanks the enemy and keeps it at distance which means that you will hardly get hit. Besides being able to control a pet Hunters can do a lot of other neat stuff like firing different kinds of stings and shots on their enemies. Click here to watch the video WoW Hunter Guide
One of these abilities is the ability to place trap which can do quite a bit of damage and freeze or slow a target. Even though only one trap can be active at the time it gives a great boost to the playability of a Hunter. Next to traps, the Hunter can Feign Death when it gets too warm under his feet because by doing this, he will act like dead which makes the enemies turn back to their position.
You probably understand that a Hunter is great for solo playing but they are however also a great asset to any raid or group in both PvE and PvP. The Hunters become even stronger through the talent trees and because of their traps which can come in handy in instances and PvP as well they are very nice to have in your team. Their pets can be used to get enemies of the healers in the groups and add to the overall damage.
The Hunter itself can dish out great amounts of damage and also have an ability called Misdirect which directs the threat caused by the three first following shots of the Hunter to the tank which makes the whole group’s job a lot easier. If Misdirect is done the tank has less worries when it comes to keeping threat which enables the healers to just heal the tank in most cases and the DPSers will not have to worry about overaggroing. Because there are many Hunters out there however, it is nice to be one of the better ones because the competition is hard.

It can be a hard task to find a spot in a party or raid from time to time and that is why it is advised to join a guild so you’ll have an easier time to do some instances. Because of the competition it is nice to be a good Hunter and that is why you should find a talent build that makes you perform well in groups. Hunters can choose from three talent trees namely Marksmanship, Survival and Beast Mastery.
Beast Master is definitely the best tree for leveling. Because the pet gets a lot of boosts in this talent tree the Hunter can basically send in the pet to attack several mobs and go drink a cup of coffee while his pet slays everything around him. Besides a Beast Master you will also get access to talents that will make you run faster which will also allow you to level faster.
The Marksmanship talent tree will provide the Hunter with several new attacks which make him do even more damage. This build is normally chosen by Hunters that like to appear on the top of damage meters. The Survival talent tree hasn’t always been really good but today it is great for PvP Hunters.
Because it gives the Hunter more survivability and improved traps it’s a nice choice. On top of that you will also gain access to a few shots that are great for PvP like Explosive and Scatter Shot.
