Mage – Damage, Crowd Control and Magic
A Mage is a great damage dealer who uses mana for his spells. The Mage uses powerful spells like Fire, Frost, and Frostfire Bolts, Arcane missiles that damage a single target but also have a variety of spells that can deal great amounts of damage to multiple enemies.
There is a variety of races one can choose if he wants to build up a mage – Human, Gnome and Draenei race (Alliance) and Blood Elf, Troll and Undead race (Horde). The Mage class is a very nice and playful class and is always welcomed in PvP arena teams and in raid/instance groups. The Mage has several buffs and the most important one is Arcane Brilliance which increases the Intellect of party and raid members. However, the Int buff is just one of the reasons why the Mage class is so popular. Click here to watch the video Mage Guide
A mage is also famous for his “consumables”, meaning he can make food & water for his own purposes and for other players as well. Mages “consumables” are able to restore both health and mana at the same time. Another thing mages have is the ability to Polymorph Beasts and Humanoids which is why they are also a need in fights with more than one mob. Even though you will find a lot of easy tank & spank fights these days it is sometimes still nice to crowd control a few mobs.
Mages buffs, spells that can create and transform are all nice but they don’t make him the best player in the game and it is that his damage spells and abilities make him a great damage dealer. Mage’s spells are based on Frost, Fire and Arcane types of damage. The Arcane talent tree is very interesting because it has become a better talent tree through time. Where previously Arcane was hardly used and if it was used it was usually in combination with the Frost or Fire talent tree, the Arcane talent build is now very nice for both PvE and PvP. Through time the Arcane talent tree became more popular and better. If you would like more information on WoW guides check out one of our popular guides here: Ultimate WoW Guide Review
Before there were hardly any Mages with an Arcane spec and this spec was usually combined with either Frost or Fire, but nowadays it is a great spec for both PvP and PvE Mages. With quite a few damaging spells taken up in the tree and a lot of talents that increase the critical strike rating of the Mage, Fire is definitely a great choice for Mages that just want to get the most damage out of their Mage. If you want the pure damage then the Fire talent tree is perfect for you. If you follow the talent build you will find out that the tree can provide you with burst damage and yet give you protective shield and slow your targets a lot.
If you like to PvP more than PvE then the Frost talent tree would be suitable for you. The Mage’s talent trees are fun to play with because you can also combine different talents from different talent trees . This. With Frost, you will be able to stun players, summon a special Water Elemental to assist you in a fight which all is quite useful for PvP and it can prove to be fun in PvE as well. If you follow the talent build you will find out that the tree can provide you with burst damage and yet give you protective shield and slow your targets a lot.
In time, by changing and combining all of the three talent builds you will surely find the perfect build to suit your character and you will become one of the best damage dealers in PvP and PvE.
