When it comes to hybrid classes in the World of Warcraft the most popular one is definitely the Druid class. The reason for this is surely a lot of fun that this amazing class has to offer. If you choose the Alliance side, you can become a Druid by choosing the Night Elf race, while if you are playing on the Horde side you can become a Druid by choosing the Tauren race.

Druids have many interesting abilities but the most fun one is definitely the ability to shapeshift. When they shapeshift, Druids can become a Bear, Cat or a Sea Lion and they also have a special Travel form. The BC expansion, Druids obtained another form - the flight form. Other classes also got the ability to use a flying mount but on the level 70 while for Druids this was available at the level 68. However, the druids got their flight form, which is an instant cast, on level 68.

Druids could become very good healers, casters, melee dpsers and tanks and their talent tree is divided into three specializations – Feral Combat, Balance and Restoration. With the Balance tree a Druid can become a caster dps well-known as Moonkin. If a Druid chooses to spec Balance he will become a typical dps caster with a special form called the Moonkin form.

While in this form, a Druid will grant his party/raid members +5% on the spells’ critical strike and this is one of the reasons why other classes of casters love to have a Moonkin in their group. A Moonkin, or as popularly called “Boomkin” is a typical mana user.

To get the best damage output they will rotate their spells and plus use two DoTs – Moonfire and Insect Swarm. He also has a few AoE spells – Starfall, Typhoon and Hurricane. Their gear needs to be rich in spell power, haste, crit and hit rating and with a good use of spells and adequate gear they can really own the damage meter. Feral Druids can choose between a tank spec or a melee dps spec.

His bear form will grant him extra armor and HP and he can become a good tank, while in cat form he can be such a strong melee dps that he will fill be on top of the damage meter. With his talent points in the Restoration tree, a druid will get another special form – the tree form. While in the tree form druid’s spells will cost him less mana and the overall healing will be enhanced for 6% done by anybody to anybody in the same raid group. Restoration Druids are unique healers and they are especially valued for their HoTs – spells thay have a healing over time effect. His gear needs to have a lot of spirit and spell power and therefore healing druids are known for their ability to regenerate mana very fast.

Druids wear leather even though they can also wear cloth if needed. If you choose to become a Druid tank or melee dps it is strongly advisable to avoid wearing cloth since armors made from leather always have much better stats. Cloth can be of use to healing druids and Moonkins since they usually don’t take any close damage unlike Druid tanks and melee. Tanking Druid needs to equip the best leather armor he can get since he needs a lot of hp and armor to be able to tank proper.

Playing a druid is really fun both in PvE and PvP and basically you can’t get bored since you can change your build and game play anytime you please. Leveling will also be fairly easy for a Druid and the best spec to choose for fast leveling will definitely be Feral Combat. As a Druid you can constantly shape shift, run and swim faster and also dive without any trouble, and what’s more fun – it is all instant!.
