Fishing Guide in the World of Warcraft
This WoW Fishing Guide was set up to teach you how to level as fast as possible. Anything with no relevance was omitted.
Seeing that fishing and cooking go hand in hand, this WoW Fishing Guide will also cover cooking and how you can increase your skills on both aspects of the game at the same time.
If you’re a fast learner, 15 hours is all that it should take for you to complete this guide.
Causes in skill rate change:
Your skill rate increases based on the number of successful catches that you’ve made.
An approximate equation:
(current unmodified fishing level - 25) / 25 = # of fish needed to level, assuming there’s a minimum number of fish per catch.
Note that where you fish does not matter. Again, your skill rate increases based on the number of successful catches that you’ve made.
WoW Fishing Guide - Horde
1. You must start from the Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore.
2. Talk to Harn Longcast, purchase Brilliant Smallfish and Longjaw Mud Snapper recipes.
3. Proceed to Stonebull Lake and begin fishing.
4. Equip your rod, then apply the shiny bauble lure to it. This will make catching fish a lot easier!
5. Spend approximately 40 minutes in catching 60 Brilliant Smallfish.
6. After those 40 odd minutes, you should have also caught about 30 Longjaw Mud Snappers. Once you have 60 of them already, proceed to cooking them. Build your own fire or you can just go back to Harn Longcast and use his fire.
7. Cook Brilliant Smallfish.
8. At level 50, you should start cooking Longjaw Mud Snappers.
9. Catch Longjaw Mud Snappers in the Orgrimmar pond. The drop rate in Orgrimmar is better so it will be more efficient for you to go there than stay in your current position.
10. Between levels 50 and 70, learn Journeyman cooking and fishing.
11. To reach 100 cooking, catch at least 30 Longjaw Mud Snappers.
12. Go to Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad. Talk to Derak Nightfall and purchase Bristle Whisker Catfish recipe.
13. 80-100 of these recipes are required to get your cooking level up to 175.
14. Between levels 125 and 150, go to Shadowprey Village in Desolace and purchase Expert Cookbook.
15. Go to Booty Bay and purchase a book for your fishing level. Talk to Old Man Heming and purchase his Expert Fishing book.
16. Upon reaching 175 cooking, proceed to Shadowprey Village in Desolace.
17. Speak to Wulan and purchase Mithril Head Trout recipe, then begin fishing at the pier.
18. Catch about 60 of these to reach cooking level 225.
Once you have completed the above 18 steps, you should have reached cooking level 225. If you haven’t reached level 35 yet, this is as far as you can go. If you are over level 35, you will have 2 quests more to compelte before you can continue.
