When Your Children Think You Have The Ideal Job Then You Are Made Redundant What Is Next?
Most parents want their kids to be happy. In order to do that, you may go out to work to help pay for nice vacations, give the kids treats, buy those expensive gifts that all their mates seem to have and the latest clothes they crave.
Then, you become a really trendy parent because you get what your kids consider to be the ideal job – in my case that was working with mobile phones for one of the well known mobile phone companies. I got the opportunity to bring home mobile telephones which were not yet on the market, working with the latest technology, helping to locate bugs before the mobile telephones got to the shops. I was the totally cool mum!
How, then, do you let your children know that due to the recession, folk are not buying as many mobile telephones and the firm is down-sizing, closing your site, and with this news, your career is disappearing. You will become one of the many redundant employees looking for a new job. Not only are you no longer employed with cutting technology, you now must find another job – for you any work will do, but for the kids they still want to have the cool mum. Lots of their pals’ mums are teachers, nurses, shop assistants. Their mum was different and they don’t want to relinquish that status.
So, you trawl through adverts, Online Jobs, job centre adverts, agency adverts, you dream about jobs, your whole life revolves around locating that next job. Then a little star shines out at you. You have seen what you think may be your textbook perfect new work. It is an opportunity to start an Internet Business, with a new technology, and at the same time Work From Home. Perhaps you have located something that suits you and appeals to the kids at the same time.
When I was looking through the Online Jobs, I came across a chance to join an Internet Business as a franchisee, which was actually affordable, so I undertook some investigations to confirm that the job was as it appeared in the advert.
This new career was in the field of search engine optimization. It advised that I would need only basic internet skills, and all training would be included in the price I paid. As I have recently been taking Open University training in ITC, which overlapped with some of the skills which would transfer to this job, I was eager to find out more.
I had interviews and meetings with the founder of this franchise and we were both happy for me to join this Internet Business.
Another plus was that I would be able to Work From Home. I already had a mobile phone, pc, internet connection and access to a printer, which are really the only tools necessary to start up in this venture. Within weeks of seeing this opportunity in the Online Jobs, I had begun my training. My kids are pleased that I am once again working with cutting edge technology and they love the fact that they can tell pals I am now the owner of an Internet Business where I have the opportunity to Work From Home. Cool mum continues!
