Purchasing the Right HDTV Television

Many people struggle with how to buy the best HDTV television.  However, it doesn’t have to be this way as buying the best HDTV television can be a remarkably easy experience and fun for the whole family. Testing new technology, viewing great HDTV television screens and price comparisons can make for one great time on a Saturday afternoon spent surfing the web or dropping by various electronics stores.

Location, Location, Location

The first thing you need to decide on is where you plan on putting your HDTV television. If it is for the bedroom, you’ll probably want a smaller unit. If you’re planning on making it the centerpiece to your huge home entertainment haven, you’ll want the granddaddy of all HDTV televisions. So finding the best HDTV television set for you is really about knowing where you plan on putting it and how you plan on using it.

Let’s Play a Pricing Game

The second thing you need to be aware of is the pricing of your HDTV flat screen TV. This largely will depend on where you shop, as looking for the best HDTV television set at a wholesale HDTV store can unlock some pretty great deals and looking for the set at a major electronics chain might unlock some pretty overpriced merchandise. You really need to take your time doing price comparisons, but there are some general pricing rules to follow.

* Paying less than $300 will get you curved tube televisions up to 32 inches, flat tubes up to 27 inches, flat panel LCD units up to 20 inches
* Paying $300 to $500 will get you curved televisions up to 36 inches, flat tubes up to 32 inches, flat panel LCD units up to 27 inches
* Paying $500 to $750 will get you widescreen tubes up to 30 inches, flat tubes up to 36 inches, flat panel LC units up to 32 inches
* Paying $750 to $1000 will get you widescreen tubes up to 34 inches, flat panel LCD units up to 42 inches, plasma televisions up to 42 inches, CRT rear-projection                  units up to 52 inches

As you can see, the more money you pay for the major brands, the larger the television screen area and the greater the technology behind it. This is only a rough estimate of the products, however, as shopping for wholesale HDTV units might give you greater savings. The brand names for the televisions are often impacted by this cost as well, as some of the lesser known brand names tend to be less expensive on the whole. Often, these lesser known brand names are created by the same more well-known brand name companies, so the products are basically the same with different names.

Decisions Decisions

Picking the best HDTV television is about getting what you want as a consumer, pricing it out properly and knowing the location that you want to place it in so that you can pick a size suited to your home. Watch the unit in the store if you can and see what kind of picture it offers. Finding the TV HDTV unit best for you depends on what you think works best and what you are most comfortable viewing. Don’t let it be about anything other than that, don’t be fooled by brand names or pushy salespeople, and spend only what you can afford.
